This blog is dedicated to updating family and friends on the adventures of young Evan as he continues to learn, play, and amaze his parents.

This was Evan's second Easter weekend and he had a lot of fun! Kisses anyone?!
Aunt Wendy came to visit from Cincinnati and everyone likes it when she visits. This weekend consisted of a lot of NCAA basketball watching (darn those Hoosiers!), a lot of jelly bean eating, and tons of laughter!
On Easter morning, after Evan had his usual breakfast, we took him out of his highchair and let him play. We totally forgot that the Easter bunny had left Evan a basket in the dining room.
He immediately went towards it and started rifling through his gifts.
Oooh, a puppet!
Evan loved the plastic eggs filled with goodies. He always has one in his hand!
Looking spiffy for church...
He did great at the service. Evan really liked the trumpets playing at the alter and all the music. He read some of his Easter books and kept staring at the cute little girl in the row in front of us. After church, we came back home to start cooking our Easter feast. Around this time we noticed Evan's eyes were getting watery, red, and had a little discharge. We knew he wasn't feeling well, as both Jason and I are battling yet another cold. Of course Evan got it. Well, after his 3+ hour nap yesterday afternoon, we saw that his eyes had a ton of crusty gunk on them. Probably his first bout of conjunctivitis (aka "pink eye"). We were right. Mommy took Evan to his pediatrician this morning and he has a slew of infections right now. Pink eye is one. She listened to his breathing and of course he has wheezing (RSV is not fun and persists until he's 2-3 years old). Top that all off with a double ear infection! We didn't even realize he had an ear infection. Poor baby! So he's back on breathing treatments, gets eye drops in both eyes, and is on antibiotics for his ears. Evan looks so sad because his eyes are really red, pussy, and watery. You just want to squeeze him and take all his sickness away.
Since he took such a long nap yesterday, we postponed the Easter egg hunt until today. This afternoon we hid the eggs downstairs and Evan went right for them.
He loved the hunt!

Even better when there's Cheerios hiding in the eggs!
Daisy wants one!
There were some deer outside the back of our home today. One was really close to the fence bordering the state park and our property...
I love these deer!
Right now Evan's trying to take a nap. Poor fellow...he keeps coughing and coughing. Ugh, I hope he gets better soon!
Whoa! We have fish?! Look at them swim!
What, Mommy, I'm not doing anything wrong...yet...
When Evan gets tired or thirsty, he'll suck his finger and twirl his hair. It doesn't matter if there are chicken and noodles on his hands or not!
Check out that hair! This child needs a bath!
Having a blast!
Can you believe our first baby is 8 years old today? Happy Birthday, Daisy! The weather was nice this afternoon, so the birthday girl got to go on a long walk with her mommy and little brother. She loved it!
This year, Mommy and Daddy each bought Daisy a toy when they were at the store separately. Turns out, they have the same taste! Daisy got 2 of the same toy, but in different colors! She doesn't mind...she loves them!
Happy Birthday sweetie pie!
He loves to play in the cubby holes in the living room. Works for us!
Evan was so excited to go to the game that he fell asleep right away in the car...
We're at the game...gotta flirt with the girls in the row behind us...
IU vs. PSU...
Evan and Daddy watching the game...
Focused...
Mommy and Evan snuggle for a picture...
The IU family...
Phew! This is tiresome!
Evan did REALLY well during the game. He was a bit tired, so he just laid back in our arms and chilled watching the game. He eventually fell asleep in Daddy's arms at the end. Evan had watched enough bad ref calls for the day! All in all a successful road trip. We really wish that IU would have pulled out a victory, though. Go IU!
Evan's been an absolute blast recently! New happenings with Evan...he got his 8th tooth, this one on the bottom row, earlier this week. He still loves to talk and say new words. His standards are Daddy, Mommy, Daisy, Uhhh (for "up"). New words are Boom (he loves Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?), Baba (for bottle or sippy cup), Moo (again, from Mr. Brown and all his farm and barn toys), and Baaboon (for balloon - which is still up by the way!).
Another fun game started last Saturday when Daddy got to hang out with Evan one-on-one. I came home and Daddy's hat was not on his head. When prompted where the hat belongs, Evan would take the hat and walk over to Daddy and put it on his head! Brilliant child, I tell you!
Daisy and Evan are becoming best buds. Evan loves to be chased and Daisy will chase him around the couch and you'll hear the loudest squeal of happiness coming from Evan when he sees her. He'll take her toys and walk or throw them at Daisy and say "Daisy" trying to get her attention. Daisy's been smothering Evan with kisses when we get home at the end of the day too.
