Yesterday Jason has his first official (human) Father's Day (we've been celebrating Father's Day for 7 years now with Daisy). Everyone had a great time! Daddy woke up before we could get him breakfast in bed. I guess that is what happens when you have a baby! Anyway, after having a cup of coffee and checking out the world of sports online, he sat down to a huge breakfast consisting of an omelet with sausage, green peppers, onions, and cheese, biscuits, and strawberries. I accidently over-stuffed his omelet, so he was quite full after finishing breakfast. While he was letting all this digest, we tried to decide how to spend the late morning. I saw my friend, Betsy, took her son to the pool on Saturday, so that gave us a great idea...let's go to the pool! (Thanks, Bets!)

Chillin' with Mommy...
After we had enough fun at the pool, we headed home. Jason went for a long bike ride while Mommy and Evan went shopping. We came home and the dad of the day was watching golf with his puppy. Ah, life is great! We grilled out for dinner and Jason ate gorganzola burgers (I had BBQ chicken), potato salad, fruit salad with mangos, and when we made room later, we had a piece of chocolate cake. Yum!Here is Daddy playing with his kids...
All in all, a great Father's Day! My next item on the agenda is to find our dartboard in one of the hundreds of boxes we have. Daddy got new darts for Father's Day and he wants to put the dart board up in the garage. Gotta start digging through some boxes...
An update on Evan, he's doing great! He rolls over constantly (both ways) and we can't keep him on the blanket on the floor. He also is starting to "inch" as his way of crawling. Evan is fascinated with Daisy (as you can see in the above picture). He'll stop whatever he's doing to watch her. He reaches out every now and then to try to touch her. He's swatted Daisy on the head a few times; she was not too phased (which is great!). One funny thing Evan has started to do is bite down and sometimes suck on my nose and chin. He does this to my chin when I'm rocking him at night. Some nights I just can't stop laughing! Goofy child! He is sleeping in his crib now, and sleeping through the night again! YEAH!
Not too much happened this past week. I guess that's a good thing! Evan is sleeping in his crib at night, but now wakes up anywhere from 1-3 times. He's trying to get used to sleeping flat and in such a larger space. We're being patient as we know he'll get used to it and start sleeping through the night again soon.
We can't forget our first child! Here she is being cute and enjoying her crinkle duck...
Life has been pretty uneventful for the Mears family this past week. Evan is still loving his rice cereal and has slept through the night for the past 3-4 nights straight. Let's hope this holds for a while. We're going to try the crib again tonight. Evan isn't a huge fan of his crib. During the first few months of his life, he slept in the bassinet part of his Pack-n-Play in our room. Now he sleeps in his bouncy seat in his room, as he feels hugged more as it cradles him. We've tried the crib, but his mattress is flat and firm and he doesn't like it as much (to be expected). He found a position while taking a nap today which suits him well in his crib...
If last night is any indication of how well Evan will sleep with a full belly of milk and some rice cereal, we're in for a smooth ride (knock on wood!) Evan went to sleep around 9:30 pm and did NOT wake up last night for a feeding! He finally woke up this morning around 7:30 am and ate around 8 am or so. That's 10 hours! Gotta love that (although I was in a bit of pain this morning, as you can imagine!)
Yikes! He's growing up too quickly! I want him to stay little forever; but it's also fun to see him explore the world and learn new things. 
Last night Evan had his first meal of solid food...rice cereal. For the past few weeks, at least, Evan has shown a huge interest in grown-up food, grabbing at our plates, drinks, watching us eat every bite. The doctor said we could introduce solid food at any time, especially since he's definitely doubled his birth weight. We thought last night was as good of a time as any. After reading about it in our books, we prepared ourselves for a long feeding task...thinking it'd take a good 20+ minutes to feed him his tablespoon or so of rice cereal. Uh, no, try 2 minutes! He loved it! We thought he would still have his reflex of pushing foods out of his mouth...nope! He smooshed out the first bite, but after that, it all went down smoothly.
