This weekend we noticed that Evan was getting a rash on his face, upper torso, and arms. He certainly wasn't feeling the greatest yesterday as he was cranky and just wasn't his happy self! Daycare was closed today for President's Day so Mommy was staying home with Evan anyway. He woke up with the rash still on his chest so Mommy called his pediatrician. The diagnosis - Fifth Disease! It's a viral infection that isn't contagious once he gets the rash. But it was contagious about a week ago when he didn't really have symptoms. Fun, huh? It's not serious when healthy children/adults get it, so we don't have much to worry about. The rash should go away within 1-6 weeks. The good news is that once someone has Fifth Disease, they're immune to it for life, so Evan should not get it again. We have learned a lot about so many different illnesses since we became parents!

I've never even heard of that.
Did he skip right over Fourth Disease?
Give Mr. Evan a huge thank-you for my Valentine!
