Let the games begin

Evan loves to play. One of his favorite games is where we hold his wrists/hands and gently jiggle him left and right. He gets the biggest grin and giggles a lot. We took advantage of the beautiful weather today and relaxed on our balcony. Evan and Daddy were playing this game...

Mommy captured Evan for a quick photo...

Evan and Daddy watched Spiderman later that evening...

Happy tales!

Almost Rolling

Any day now, Evan is going to roll over! He flips his legs over and half of his torso. But this left arm of his, it just won't get out of the way. He certainly has fun trying, squealing with delight the whole time. Earlier tonight we were encouraging Evan and even Daisy joined in on the fun. Our little baby is growing up...

Ready for my close-up!

Not much new here in the Mears household. Evan is squealing with delight more than ever. I've caught it with the camcorder, which I'd post on here if I knew how to do that. Actually, neither Jason nor I have had time to read the camcorder manual (it a new toy). We both only know how to record, stop, and play back. Somehow I got it to fade on and off. Don't ask me how I did it! Anyway, Evan's been pretty happy this week. Last night he slept an amazing 12 hours, only waking twice to feed in that time frame and quickly falling back asleep. He might be fighting off a slight cold he caught from Mommy & Daddy but seems back to normal today. Mommy had a photo shoot of Evan yesterday in his crib.
He is growing up so quickly...

Play Ball!

Evan finally went to his first baseball game last night. Originally, we were supposed to see the Orioles play the Royals last Sunday. However, the Noreaster and constant rain caused a cancellation of the game. Evan will still get to the O's... With the beautiful weather yesterday, Jason, Evan, I, and friends, Brendan and Maureen, decided to take in a minor league game in the area. The Potomac Nationals (farm team for the Washington Nats) and the Frederick Keys (farm team for the O's) were playing in Virginia. It was a fun night! As soon as we sat down, Evan starting flirting and smiling with the baby girl who was next to us. Uncle Brendan said that Evan was a player! Training them young... Evan had a great time and was intently watching the game. A future ball player in our midst?

Here's the happy family:
Evan was really into watching the game:

Someone got tired and took a short nap on Daddy. Being cute is exhausting!

Until next time...

We survived...

This was my ever dreaded first week back to work. Let's just say it wasn't easy. Starting on Sunday evening I had a pit in my stomach and tears in my eyes. Monday was worse. Tuesday, it was getting better. The reality of needing to work and actually enjoying my job once I was here was starting to settle in.

Evan does great at his daycare provider's house (Rita). She said he got an "A" his first day! When we got him home he was very eager to show us what he learned...he squealed VERY loudly! So loud it could rival his cousin, Arianna! We think the other children at Rita's house must have encouraged it. Jason and I were laughing so much because he kept doing it! His verbal skills are definitely growing. He has multiple conversations with Mommy and Daddy throughout the evenings.

This is Evan "talking" with Daddy last night:

Listening for Daddy's response:The two of them having fun:

Mommy was having fun with Evan last night too. Here we were playing a hiding game. I think I found him!...

We're definitely having a great time with Evan. He's been such a joy in our lives. Thanks for checking in! We'll post more updates and pictures soon. Keep checking back...
