Mobile lil' man

Just an update on Evan...he's all over the place! Last week, he really took to crawling, the real crawling, no more "army crawl". Daisy doesn't realize how fast Evan has gotten as she gets surprised quite often when he is right beside her. He's crawling everywhere.Mommy and Daddy definitely need to finish baby-proofing the house. Evan's favorite places to crawl to are the 2 bookshelves (he loves books), a wicker blanket basket, and into the kitchen to get the trash can (shiny!).Ahhh, we're constantly running after him so he doesn't bonk his head too bad on anything or get in too much trouble!

Evan is talking up a storm. He's getting quite loud at it as well. He is also really curious and wants to explore everything. Some of Evan's favorite toys at the moment are his blocks, stacking rings, and books...All in all, Evan's such a wonderful baby. He makes us laugh constantly and we are really enjoying watching Evan explore and discover the world.

Da Bears!

We're grooming Evan early for the NFL. What do you think...quarterback, wide receiver, or maybe a linebacker catching an interception?Maybe a center? To all our family and friends who are Colts fans...go Bears!

Happy baby!

Everyone that meets Evan comments on how happy he is. He is always smiling and giggling, which is quite contagious! Evan has been doing well this week. He is now pulling himself up onto his feet using the ottoman as support...

OK, I think I can do it...Almost there, let's taste the ottoman first...YEAH!! I'm up!!Oooh...I see the remote...my favorite!Daddy got a great picture of Mommy and Evan snuggling...
Happy Friday!

Giggle, giggle, giggle...

Props go to Daddy and Betsy who are solely responsible for the success of this blog entry and video. Jason made a compilation of a few clips of Evan and Daisy playing together. I'd say the first part of the clip was filmed more than a month or two ago. The second part was filmed on July 16. And the naked baby part of the clip was filmed on Saturday, August 11. To view, click on the video to activate it and then click the arrow button to play. Enjoy lots of giggling and barking...

Are you smiling and laughing yet? Now you can understand why we don't get any housework or chores done. How can you work when you have an adorable, giggly baby and playful puppy to entertain you?!

Lots of pictures!

I know, I've been slacking a bit in the blogging field. Sorry! It seems like no matter how much time Jason and I have, we're always busy! From cleaning the house (ha!) to shopping for groceries and baby stuff, to just relaxing...there certainly is not enough time in the day for everything. Anyway...

Evan! Such a great little baby! He's been very happy and a joy to be around. Unfortunately right now he has a bit of "prickly" heat rash. Well, when it feels like 100 degrees outside I guess that'll do it to anyone! I called the doctor and there isn't much we can do except keep him cool. Evan loves that because he gets to crawl around the house in just a diaper. Fun! No new teeth yet, just the bottom 2. He is drooling up a storm now, so we keep checking out his teeth and gums. Patiently waiting for more.
He's loving all his baby food. In an ideal world, I would LOVE to make his baby food from scratch. But honestly, we barely have enough time to make food for ourselves, not to mention a baby! There is also no room to store it as our freezer is busting with milk for Evan. Hope he's thirsty! Hopefully with our next child I'll have more time and might make it from scratch. So for now, it's jarred organic baby food. He's gobbled most of the foods up quickly which is great.

He's not really crawling yet. He moves around with the "army crawl". We're eagerly waiting for the full hands and knees crawl. We did notice that he has started to pull himself up onto his knees using the ottoman and our legs as leverage. Not on his feet yet, but it's a start.
Tickle, tickle, tickle! He's very ticklish on his ribs... We've given Evan a sippy cup with water in it to see how he handles it. He does OK but really just wants to gnaw on the spout! We cannot have spoil Evan day without having a spoil Daisy day. This past weekend, while out at Babies-R-Us, we stopped in PetSmart and picked up a few new toys for Daisy girl. She loves them!Have a great day and try to stay cool!

Mamamamama...

Evan said it! He said "Mama". I'm thrilled! I've been encouraging the "m" sound lately, especially when he eats solid foods. Today he said Mama a few more times than usual. Ahhh, I finally heard it! Dada has been hearing his name for a while now. Now is my turn to beam!

Evan is the cutest sleeper. Most nights when we check on him before turning in ourselves, he's on his belly with his bottom propped in the air. Check him out...
How cute is that! I just want to scoop him up and give him a big hug!
